"Highland Metro Apartments: DESCO Affordable Housing, run by Dave Slattery, proposed renovating a 32-unit apartment complex at 912 W. Highland Ave., southeast of Camelback Road and 15th Avenue. It also wants to add a 32-unit complex to a 32-unit complex at 720 W. Coolidge St. near Seventh and Highland avenues. DESCO estimates costs will total $11.6 million, and it sought $1 million in credits.
"Garfield Sacred Heart: DESCO Affordable Housing also wants to acquire and rehabilitate this property at 16th and Portland streets in downtown Phoenix's historic Garfield neighborhood. The 100-unit complex would house veterans, and development could cost 18.5 million. DESCO sought up to $2.5 million in tax credits."

I wouldn't be making this type of purchase today. Still, it'll probably go back to $40. Buy it at $5. (There are no guarantees at this site. Are you willing to accept the loss of $5 a share, which could happen - or a long wait, which could happen - for an 8x return - or the possibility of a valuable long term holding? Are you willing to risk $50 on that? $100? $1000? Given that, I think it should bounce back quick enough.)
solid revenues and earnings history. makes flash drives for industrial and commercial use.

Oh, yeah, this is the truck stop chain. Cool! Very substantial revenues, holding steady. Fairly substantial losses (1% of revenues) for four years, showing slight improvement. In 2007, income was 96 million dollars, or around $4 a share.
I just think this is a good long term play, at a very reasonable price. In 2007 it traded at $40 a share (10 times earnings). I expect it to go back there. There's a possibility we'll see it back there SOON. Then we will probably see it go higher, over the years.
This is not, actually, an ultra-cheap stock. It does seem like a good conservative play. The long term chart suggests a sharp rally is imminent, too, as of this writing, December 28, 2011.

TherapeuticsMD Inc
formerly AMHN
Once again, I don't know when I bought it or what I payed for it ... but I sure don't mind owning it.
i ended up with 23 shares of txmd. the chart suggests they should be worth $3000 in due time. a tiny amount of revenues, and revenue growth - up from zero - the last two years. recently acquired two companies.
