Here are instructions for finding the cheapest heavily traded stock on any given day:
Use the MarketWatch screener, screen for stocks under a dollar with volume greater than 1,000,000 shares. List them in ascending order by price.
The first stock on the list for which you can get a good chart is the cheapest actively traded stock that day.
That's how you set up the scan. Just the price and volume criteria are checked. The upper volume limit, which seems to be required, is set at 100,000,000,000 ... 100 billion ... which is supposed to mean "infinity".
After you click Screen, you get the above window. The important thing there is the Sort By settings. The screenshot shows the correct settings.
Finally, click the "chart" link for the stock ... in this case it's GSX ... the C+B symbol doesn't return a chart.
